My life's work is to encourage, bless, welcome and heal.

My deep call to be a Spiritual Director comes from my passion

for helping  people deepen their connection with God; or to

reconnect with God. I believe that God is Love, and that we are

created to love and be loved. God welcomes each of us...

just as we are.

What is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual Direction is a reflective, faith -cerntered practice in which a trained spiritual director accompanies an individual as they explore their relationship with God, the Sacred, The Divine, or their deepest values. In a safe, confidential relationship, the spiritual director prayerfully listens and helps people discern life's challenges, opportunities, spiritual awareness, and recognition of the presence and action of The Divine in everyday life. Together we prayerfully listen to God's Presence and Action in your life.

Areas in which Spiritual Direction may be helpful

  • Discernment

I have worked with people in discernment, either to a call to ministry or a transition in their life. If you are seeking clarity in a life change, career change, call to ministry, or understanding God's movement in your life; spiritual direction may be very helpful to you.

  • Struggles with Traditional Religion and Church

Those who have been wounded or rejected by the institutional church. LGBTQI+ persons, seekers and the spiritually curious, those who question or no longer accept the fundamentalism of their youth, and anyone who has been wounded by the institutional church, are all loved and welcomed to explore their spiritual path in a safe, non-judgmental space.

  • Clergy Spiritual Health

Clergy and Ministers also can struggle spiritually. With thirty years in ordained ministry, I understand the unique challenges of being a pastor. Pastor burnout is real, and so is compassion fatigue. We have nothing to give when our well is dry. Spiritual direction can help restore a sense of balance for the pastor and renew our own spirit.

  • Spirituality of Recovery

Spiritual direction can be helpful in finding wholeness and spiritual healing. With a background in substance abuse treatment and family dynamics, I am knowledgeable in the recovery process and the Twelve Steps as a spiritual path.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is paramount in the spiritual direction relationship. This is to help provide a safe environment in which the person receiving spiritual direction can feel explore their life and relationship with God. As a certified spiritual director, I adhere to and observe the Guidelines for Ethical Conduct published by Spiritual Directors International. https://www.sdicompanions.org/media/guidelines-for-ethical-conduct/

Everything we discuss is confidential and held in trust by me, your spiritual director.
